Plan both ends of the trip
A removed filter needs a clear destination and a clear path back to the person installing it. DPF Utah coordinates drop-off, pickup, return delivery and shipping arrangements around the service request. Start with the filter’s current location, its size or assembly type, and the date you need it returned.
Our Salt Lake City shop is at 3520 S. State, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. Contact us before the handoff to arrange receiving details and the work requested. For a complete vehicle, include its dimensions and operating condition so the visit can be planned appropriately.
Pickup and delivery begin with the job
Tell us the collection address, contact person, number of components and whether the filters have been removed. Include site access restrictions, receiving windows and any loading assistance needed for a larger assembly.
The service arrangement should identify the pickup and return locations, transport charges, scheduling and who receives the returned parts. A repair shop may need the filter delivered to a different address from the billing office; make that distinction early.
If you are in Utah County or elsewhere outside Salt Lake City, provide your actual location. Coverage and scheduling are arranged for the job. A service inquiry gives us enough information to discuss a practical route without asking you to plan around an assumed pickup window.
Identify every component
Keep each part tied to the vehicle or machine it came from. Include:
- Company and contact name, plus a reachable reply number or email.
- Fleet unit number or repair-order number.
- Vehicle or machine details and engine information.
- Filter part number and serial number when available.
- Reason for service, known contamination and requested return date.
For several filters, use a separate identifier for each. A pallet of similar-looking parts should arrive with a list that makes the requested work and return destination clear. Photos taken before the handoff can also help resolve questions about identification or existing damage.
Prepare for shipping
Contact us before shipping an assembly. Its size, weight, condition and contents affect the shipping arrangement. Disclose fluid contamination and loose or damaged parts before selecting a carrier or packaging method.
Protect the component against movement and damage, particularly vulnerable connections and exposed faces. Packaging needs to support the assembly through normal carrier handling. Follow the carrier’s requirements and the handling instructions agreed for the specific component; do not assume every removed DPF can go into a general parcel shipment.
Include the service reference inside the shipment and retain your tracking information. Agree on who arranges return freight and where the completed job should go. Transit time belongs in the repair schedule alongside inspection, service and any further work needed after the findings.
Keep turnaround and return timing separate
The day a filter leaves your shop is not necessarily the day cleaning begins. Collection, transport, receiving, inspection and authorization can each affect the schedule. A filter that needs a replacement decision has a different path from one accepted for cleaning.
Give us the operational deadline, such as the planned installation day or the next scheduled dispatch. That is more useful than a general request to rush. Fleet service and repair-shop service can include several jobs with different priorities.
Before the return, make sure the receiving technician knows which component is coming back, its service outcome and what remains to complete the vehicle repair.
Questions about filter logistics
Is pickup free?
Transport charges are part of the job quote. Provide the locations, component count and timing so pickup and return can be considered together. Do not assume a cleaning price includes either trip.
Can I drop off a filter without the vehicle?
Yes. Arrange the receiving details and send the filter’s identification and service history with it. If the cause of the complaint is still unknown, explain that at intake so the limits of component-only work are clear.
Can you collect a filter that is still installed?
Tell us that it remains on the vehicle. Removed-filter transport and removal service are separate scopes, and the appointment needs to account for the work actually required.
Can several filters be sent together?
Yes. Identify each component separately and provide the service need and return priority for each unit. A single shipment can contain parts that require different decisions after inspection.
